I am registered as a with several private healthcare organisations / providers, such as BUPA, AXA and Pruhealth to deliver therapy to their clients.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, (EMDR).

This type of therapy mainly focuses on the treatment of traumatic events, using a technique that simulates REM sleep to assist the processing of these events. Currently this is one of the recommended treatment protocols from NICE, (National Institute of Clinical Excellence),  in the treatment of Trauma.

Trauma can be experienced by anyone and can include:

    • Sexual abuse / trauma.
    • Violent and aggressive relationships.
    • War veterans.
    • Exposure to terrorism.
    • Exposure to natural disasters.

For the Therapist: Since completing the Newcastle supervision course, in 2006, I have been offering supervision to clinicians who work within a Cognitive Behavioural Framework. I have now gained nearly ten years experience supervising trainees, advanced practitioners and accredited therapists delivering CBT. I have been supervising the clinical staff at Lancaster University for many years. Recently to ensure that my supervisory skills up to date I attended a five day workshop for the development of advanced skills in CBT supervision. I am happy to supervise students from a variety of educational institutions, but a rolling 3 month supervision contract will apply.

For the Service: Since 2008 I have been delivering training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. In 2009 and 2010 I assisted in the delivery of a work based interventions programme for the Lancashire Early Intervention Service. In 2011 I have delivered training and supervision to the post graduate, High Intensity Practitioners at Lancaster University. Between 2011 - 2012 I have been part of the school of medicine at the University of Liverpool, working as a clinical tutor / lecturer on the Post Graduate High Intensity IAPT course.
